Passion fruit pie
Whenever we head to Liberia, Rene and I always try to stop at the Casa Verde restaurant which is owned by a lovely woman from New Zealand and her Costa Rican husband. At one recent visit, she placed before us the most remarkable dish: passion fruit pie. Fabulous! Talk about ambrosia (aka “food for the Greek and Roman Gods). We began a discussion of how to bake the pie, and I learned that if I grew the passion fruit – she would turn it into pies. What a deal! So, we’ve added passion fruit to our ever-growing list of fruits and vegetables cultivated on our property. We planted some cuttings in our greenhouse, and it looks like we’ll have passion fruit coming out of our ears. Here’s a photo of our first crop!
